Card Credit Debt Free

Card credit debt free is all too familiar a term these days. With the country busting in debt it begs to ask the question: Who is to blame? Day in and day out, the media bombard us with o down...no payments for x number of months...pay only next year...The list of benefits are impressive and the price is right. Is advertising to blame?

Credit card companies are no different in that they are also peddling lower rates, no fee cards etc. Are they to blame?

Then, of course, there is the consumer. Tugged from all sides to "spend now before the offer disappears." You have to have a disciplined constitution to refuse some of the amazing offers available on some of today's most popular major purchases.

So, who is to blame for the nation busting at the seams with debt?

Perhaps they are all to blame, but my first inclination is to blame the credit card holders.

Like many others, I was brought up as one who believes that you should never buy something you can't afford to pay for. It seems I am in the minority. This I believe is where those in debt have erred.

This is not to say that many have come by this dilemma of debt because of some tragic circumstances. Indeed, many have lost jobs, fallen gravely ill or have suffered injury that has left them incapable of working and supporting an otherwise normal American lifestyle.

I'm referring to those who are basically irresponsible when it comes to money- management. Searching for card credit debt free then becomes a cry for help when they are forced into a debt situation that has spiraled completely out of control.

Now, interest free terms doled out by credit card companies can be a great way to finance your purchases as it provides you with the opportunity to spread a large dollar amount over the interest free period. But only as long as you pay the entire balance within the credit card's interest free period!

That's the catch.....Because if you don't pay the entire balance within the allotted period, be prepared for a a huge wake up call - usually from the collections department. Once you go beyond the interest free period, the balance outstanding will attract a high interest rate and possibly additional fees and charges as well. That's when we hear the cries of card credit debt free help from the masses.

This type of financing option definitely allows people to live beyond their means but it can be very dangerous. The whole mentality of buy now and pay later induces a misguided sense of wealth. Then, of course comes the backlash.

Unless you fully committed to repaying the amount in full and on time don't buy it!!

Interest free terms - good if you're in control of your finances, bad if you spend like there's no payback tomorrow. Spare the help calls of card credit debt free by thinking before buying. Otherwise, impulsive purchases will be your ruin.
